  ADVANTAGES OF FLAXBEDDING

  • The upper layer of the bedding always remains dry thanks to flaxstraw’s highly absorbing capacity.

  • Compared to straw and woodshavings, flaxstraw absorps 12 times, respectively 4 to 6 times more moisture, due to the fact that it has an absorbing power of up to 450%, resulting in invariably dryer stables.

  • One of flaxstraw’s extraordinary characteristics is that it binds urine, resulting in a sharp reduction in the development of ammonia : as a consequence, the amount of flies and smell-related problems decrease.

  • Compared to straw, flaxstraw can be stored in much smaller facilities and needs up to 80% less storage room!

  • In case the horse-droppings are removed daily, the stable only needs mucking out completely every three months. The cleaning itself is physically less demanding, That way, time & effort are saved.

  • The consumption of flaxstraw is far more restricted than straw (70% less) and woodshavings (50% less). here is a reduction of 75% in manure production. The manure is rapidly transformed into compost manure with a neutral PH value, causing less acidification of the soil.

  • The manure is being transformed into good compost in 8 weeks’ time, compared to woodshavings or sawdust; since weeds, vermin, parasites or other micro-organisms do not occur in it, it is much in demand with gardeners and garden hobbyists.

  • Flaxstraw is the ultimate bedding for animals with allergic disorders of the bronchial tubes.

  • Horses don’t like flaxstraw and will not eat it, except in case of extreme hunger or out of boredom. After having cleaned the stable, one can best provide some straw or hay for the horse to nibble on, so as to distract the animal. The use of flaxstraw can never be the cause of colic or infections.

  • Flaxstraw does not coagulate and does not get entangled in a horse’s hooves, nor does it stick to the tail or the manes.

  • Flaxstraw is the soundest & cheapest bedding in your horse’s box.
